Sparklers and high kicks! It's actually possible! Dear Substack writer. You’re a trailblazer, you know. There’s a picture that springs to mind with that word, trailblazer. Visions of people clearing dense forest pathways with machetes and torches of fire. Apparently the true etymology is a little less literal; Instead of pyrotechnics, the ‘blazes’ are in fact small DIY markings or signposts, carved into trees...
I know a workaround to do this for unsubscribes as well (as well as grabbing the subscriber name and source for new subscriptions). Happy to offer a walkthrough (for free) if you want to set something up. I use Make.com instead which is cheaper than Zapier too!
Hi Arpit, I'd definitely be interested in this! Please let me know if you do a walkthrough. I have an email list of 19K+ that I'd like to sync with Substack which is where I plan to offer paid community benefits while still keeping my Flodesk list and signup forms. Feel free to email me at elle@modernminimalism.com
Thank you for this! Someone sent me the link, as I was feeling completely stuck and hadn’t a clue whether to stick/twist with Substack/Flodesk. I kinda miss Flodesk, but also love Substack…Quick Q: did you ever do the live session?
This is a great post. I have a question - is there a way I could trigger an automation in Convertkit when a Substack reader clicks a link? I love sharing broader ideas on Substack but would like to be able to move those who are very interested into an email sequence. Thanks!
this thorough post just saved us 483 hours or research and 1 neurotic breakdown. THANK YOU!
follow up questions - because there's no way to stop the Substack automated welcome email (though it can be edited, of course), do you recommend sending any additional automated welcome email from the external mailing list (ex: MailerLite)? I can see both benefits and downsides to a double welcome.
Super useful step-by-step, thank you Sara!
Thanks, Sara, this is so good to know. Please do a LIVE set up session, I'll join for sure!

I would also REALLY appreciate this. Please share the walk through if you have it.
I don't have a walkthrough but I can share some resources that will help you set up the workflow. Feel free to DM me.
